学术报告【Smart Networks in 5G: Challenges and Potential Solutions】

时间:2018年7月31日 (星期二)上午 10:00

主讲:University of Exeter,吴玉磊教授

主办:数学与信息学院, 福建省网络安全与密码技术重点实验室

报告摘要:With the emergence of a new generation of OTT applications, such as IoT-based applications mixed up with AR/VR capabilities, more complicated network dynamics are expected to appear in 5G networks. 5G then requires smart networks to concurrently accommodate diversified services with differentiated and stringent requirements. This talk will discuss some of the current challenges of realizing 5G smart networks and focus on my recent researches on AI-enabled 5G networks.

报告人简介:Dr. Yulei Wu is an associate professor in Computer Science at the University of Exeter. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computing and Mathematics and B.Sc. (First Class Hons) degree in Computer Science from the University of Bradford, UK, in 2010 and 2006, respectively. His main research focuses on Future Internet Architecture and Technologies, Smart Network Management, Green Networking, Big Data for Networking, and Analytical Modelling and Performance Optimization.

His recent research has been supported by UK EPSRC, National Natural Science Foundation of China, London Mathematical Society, University's Innovation Platform and several industries. He has published over 60 research papers in prestigious international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communications Magazine, ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications, and ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems, and at reputable international conferences. He was the recipient of the Best Paper Awards from IEEE SmartCity-2015, IEEE CSE-2009, and ICAC-2008 international conferences.

Dr. Wu serves as an Associate Editor or a Member of Editorial Board for several international journals including Computer Networks (Elsevier) and IEEE Access, as well as a Guest Editor for many international journals, e.g., IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing. He has been the Chair or Vice-Chair of more than 50 international conferences/workshops and has served as the Technical Program Committee member of more than 90 professional conferences/workshops. He was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Awards from 4 IEEE international conferences. He was elected as a Member of Youth Innovation Promotion Association CAS (Chinese Academic of Sciences) in 2015 and Employee of the Year 2013.
